The idea of learning how to paint came to me in 2003. Having turned 59 and having passed the peak of my career in printing and publishing, I saw that it was time to think about a productive and creative way to spend the last third (or “last chapter”, if you prefer euphemisms) of my life. One day a little blue bird perched on my shoulder and chirped in my ear: “Why not learn how to paint? You might be good at it”.
